The figure below will be used to show how individuals link together to form a social group. Use it as a model for displaying the "Understanding Social Units" diagram. After each student has filled out the diagram, cut them out and arrange them in a circle on a wall with a circle in the center entitled "OUR CLASS."
Each person is a link within a group, but
he or she is also a link between groups. Each person brings to a group
the wealth (or liabilities) of his or her other associations, and at the
same time connects many groups together within a society or community.
Think of how many different groups are connected just by the members of
your family circle.
