In Search
of the Unknown

In each face
I look for the unknown
but she doesn't recognize me.

We are hidden behind walls
of our separate worlds
of our unique destinies.

Since very young
I have searched for the unknown
in long, lonely walks
through dim alleys,
on infinite beaches,
in the streets of foreign cities,
in the glances of their inhabitants.

I sense that she awaits timidly,
but where?
It is the desire to be one with all
that amazes me,
that obsesses me,
that drives me forward.
