Finding
Each Other
We found
each other,
it seemed so easy.
Face to face,
a handshake,
a smile,
in a distant place.
The simplicity
of chance
was a labor of ages.
In our eyes,
in our gaze,
a history long forgotten
was recognized.
What patient
forces
conspired to create
a meeting
a crossing of paths
of aimless wanderers
imagining they were free?
The power
of two Souls
guarding a love long remembered
like a lost treasure sought
but never acquired.
Using desire
and dissatisfaction,
idealism
and education,
urging onward
two lives
to a moment of destiny:
unplanned,
improbable,
beyond imagination.
The power
of two Souls
is stronger
than two countries
than two traditions
stronger
than logic or religion
stronger
than expectation
stronger
than time or location.
Our life is the proof,
for we found each other.
